The residents of Abaranje in Ikotun area of Lagos were stunned over the bold move by some suspected robbers, who planned candle light procession for their colleagues known as ‘One Million Boys’ killed via jungle Justice in the area.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police operatives from Ikotun Division raided the area on Tuesday evening, dispersed the group that had planned candle light procession to honour the deceased who were brutally beheaded over suspicion that they were ‘One Million Boys’.
Some of the suspects were arrested while many escaped and were said to be at large during the onslaught by the Police.
The latest development may have exposed the fact that ‘One Million Boys’ may not be in existence actually rather it was the local criminal elements that gave the misinformation over their activities.
Some of the members, mainly the youths in the area, who are suspected members of the gang, have continued to express their anger over Police brutality by disrupting the event, describing it as abuse of their right for lawful assembly as enshrined in the Constitution.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that tension engulfed the entire Ikotun area after the information spread that ‘One Million Boys’ will be having candle light procession to honour the deceased members, who also reside in the area including a brother to the Oba of Ikotun.

Many residents temporarily relocated elsewhere over the fear of the likely chaotic outcome of the candle light procession which they feared that might turn violent and bloody.

The CDAs in the area contacted the Police to provide security and stop the group from doing such in the area as it might most likely turn into violence and destruction.

Hence, the Police mobilized officers, went there and disrupted the whole arrangement and the event ended abruptly while some arrests were said to have been made.

P.M.EXPRESS undercover reporter revealed that the deceased may have been unjustly murdered and now the Police and some people prevented them from being given decent burial.

The deceased were killed by some residents and vigilante in the area who suspected that they were ‘One Million Boys’. They were beheaded and thrown into a nearby canal before it was later discovered that they were residents including a brother to the Oba of Ikotun.

This attracted the attention of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, who visited the area and some people were arrested and transferred to the SCIID, Panti Yaba, for murder.

It was yet confirmed by the Police if the deceased were actually part of the ‘One Million Boys’ as some residents claimed as investigation was said to be ongoing on the matter.
