SWS Condemns Gruesome Murder In Plateau, Wants Justice For Victims

The International President of Standup for Women Society (SWS), Barrister Deborah Ijadele-Adetona, has condemned the gruesome killing of young, old men and women even children in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

 

According to reports, the people were killed during the Fulanis’ invasion of the communities on the 16th of May, 2023 which left over thirty people dead.

 

As a mother and also advocate for a better society, she has called on the Federal Government to put a stop to this incessant killing.

 

In a statement she personally issued, and made public by the Association’s National Public Relations Officer, Lib. Billie Nwogu, Barr. Deborah called on Security Agencies to protect the lives of the people now to avoid reprisal attacks.

 

She, therefore, begged President Muhammadu Buhari, to, as a matter of urgency order security agencies to secure the lives and property in the area.

 

Barr. Deborah said if the outgoing president could not bring to justice the killers, he urged the incoming president Bola Tinubu to do everything possible to put a stop to this menace across the country.

 

“Over 100 persons, most of them women and children, have been reported murdered in cold blood by this same terrorists during many overnight unprovoked attacks, and their houses burnt down, including foodstuffs, food barns and seedlings and other valuables”

 

She noted that over 200 persons have been killed in the last four months before May.

 

President, SWS International used the medium to console the state government, traditional rulers and families of the dead. She prayed such a wicked act should not occur again.
