Two teenage robbers, who allegedly invaded National Theatre of Arts and Culture, Iganmu area of Lagos and carted away cables supplying electricity light worth millions of Naira, have finally been arrested.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects, Chibuzor Lazarus, 16 and Richard Friday, 16, were arrested by the Police operatives from Iponri Division.
Their arrest was achieved following an intelligence information received by the Police after they allegedly broke into the place and stole the wires despite the presence of security guards at the  theatre.
The alleged theft reportedly threw the whole area into darkness and the security men, who were on duty on that day, were unable to explain how the thieves managed to beat them and carried out the alleged dastardly act.
According to the Police, the suspects and others now at large were alleged to have conspired, gone to the place at night, damaged and stole some meters of the cables by cutting them using sharp object before they escaped.
The destruction temporarily threw the place into darkness and the matter was reported to the Police, who moved into action and eventually arrested the two suspects, Lazarus and Friday. They were were then detained at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ebute Metta Magistrate Court for the alleged offence under Sections 412,350,257 and 168 of the Criminal law of the State, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The defendants were brought before the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. F.M. Kayode-Alamu and were arraigned for the  alleged offence.
However, they pleaded not guilty.
However,  the defendants were remanded in the Juvenile centre having been granted bail for the alleged offence pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
