Teenager Arrested For Stealing N7.3m Phones At Computer Village

An 18-year old girl, Idowu Aliya, has been arrested and charged for allegedly stealing 12 phones worth N7.3m at the Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Francis Oremeji Street, Computer Village area of Ikeja, where the shop owned by Esho Sukanmi Oluwatobi is located.
The Police alleged the suspect to have stolen the phones on 12th February, 2024 and was later caught following the discovery by the owner, Oluwatobi, that the phones were missing in the shop.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division and she was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing items at the shop.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
