Temple Soccer Cup To Shake Ogun State, Says Organisers

SUNDAY AKINTOYE
In order to develop grassroots football in Ogun State, Vital Travel & Tourism Agency has concluded plans to stage first edition of The Holy Gabriel Mighty Temple Soccer Competition on March 15 at Ibefun Mini Stadium, Ijebu, Ogun State.
The much awaited tournament would involve 16 teams from Ogun, Lagos and Ghana according to the organizers.
Chairman Organizing Committee, Eluwuro Odulana confirmed that the competition will shake Ogun State considering the teams that will take part in the tournament.
He said the organizers are working round the clock to get some clubs in Lagos and if possible Ghana to feature in the tournament.
“This is grassroots competition that is well packaged and designed in such a way that teams that will take part would use it to prepare for state Challenge Cup and other future football competitions. It is not ordinary competition but a competition that will attract football agents within Ogun and outside the state,” he said.
Odulana revealed that the competition will also be used to select 22 players that will form a team known as Holy Gabriel FC which will feature in the Amateur III.
“Of course the sponsor is planning to buy an Amateur III space and we are going to use this competition to select best players and for a team that would play in amateur league in the nearest future,” he said.

It’s really amazing according to the chairman speech, but how will a single player involve the tournament.
