The Gallantry Of CSP Ogundola-Led RRS To Rid Ekiti State Of Criminals

There is no doubt that Nigerian state is passing through its tough times due to the spate of insecurity ravaging the fabrics of the society. While this is going on, the security apparatus of the nation has ensured that it is on top of the situation, making every effort possible to safe guard life and property of the people. The Nigeria Police, from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) down to the lowest ranked policemen and women on the streets are leaving nothing to chance to secure the nation, and indeed Nigerians are watching.

One officer, who has stood tall in the fight against criminalities is Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Marcus Ogundola, who together with his team of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have been a torn in the flesh of all criminal minded people in Ekiti State.

CSP Ogundola-Led RRS has been securing Ekiti State within the ambit of the law and this has not gone unnoticed by the people of the state.

“Ekiti is indebted to the Police, especially the Commander RRS Marcus Ogundola. What do you say of the Commander Rapid Response Squad in Ekiti State whose efforts reduced the rate of crime in Ekiti. Kidnapping, armed robbery has been depleted owing to his hyperactiveness.

“On regular basis, Marcus has made it a point of duty to patrol all the nooks and crannies in Ekiti State, looking for criminal elements with his crack operatives,” said Evangelist Gbenga Adebayo, one of several residents of the state who have good news to tell about the gallant works of CSP Ogundola and his team.

Evangelist Adebayo noted that “CSP Ogundola is a crime burster and law enforcement agent with sense of humility. He is a no nonsense police officer who detests any forms of corruption. He is a principled police officer who always sees to the end of the case he is investigating.

“Marcus and other operatives under him had busted so many crime within and outside Ekiti State through his intelligence gathering prowess and high sense of the use of security gadgets which makes him an outstanding police officer.

“It is on record that Marcus with his team arrested a serving Assistant Commissioner of Police sometimes in 2015 who allegedly involved in a case of kidnapping, This is a proof to show that he does not choose corruption as a means of surviving.

“Between January 2021 to December 2021, Marcus and his team had arrested a lot of crime perpetrators ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, terrorism, cultism, murder, illegal possession of prohibited firearms, rape, burglary and stealing.

“Recently, he arrested several armed robbers and kidnappers terrorising Ekiti State and its environs and a lot of arms and ammunition recovered.

“The activities of the Rapid Response Squad in Ekiti State is what has been making Ekiti State one of the safest states in Nigeria. It is evident that a Squad like this must have drew the ire of criminal element and their cohorts within and outside Nigeria. Only criminals, charlatans, disgruntled elements who are jittery of his responsible policing will hate this officer who is only born to serve his fatherland. Marcus deserves a special promotion.”

David Akintola, who hails from Efon-Alaiye urged the residents to continue to pray for Ogundola and his team. “We can only continue to pray for CSP Marcus protection, his family and the good work he is doing in the Police. Hope the authority recognizes him,” Akintola said.

To Adeola Elumaro, a former Legal Officer at Nigeria Police Force (NPF), “the policing prowess of CSP Ogundola is attested to by most of who happened to be his course mates as well. We have been together during our various courses and in different police commands including Ebonyi State. We hope the the police authority will recognise the doggedness of this officer and do the needful.”

A. J. Oguntuase Esq said words cannot describe the level of professionalism Ogundola has deployed to secure Ekiti State. The legal practitioner said: “Of a truth, the OC RRS (Ekiti State Command), CSP Marcus Ogundola is indeed a rare gallant non compromising police officer whom, be whoever you are or so high, he careless much as justice is ensured, crimes depleted, criminals swept off the streets.

“Still finding the rights words to put together to describe this selfless tiredness fearless police officer of matchless candour whose distinctive excellent service to humanity would not be adequately appreciated by either the State, Nigeria Bar Association, Police Force, security agencies, or not even the nation, Nigeria. A one on one with him, makes one love policing.

Segun Ige added a twist while pouring accolades on the police officer who done a lot to keep his people save. He advised that CSP Ogundola should thread on the path of caution and watch both his steps and back.

“A job well done, Officer Marcus. I just pray and hope that this description is what you truly are. We’ve heard words of exceptional performance of Abba Kyari only to start hearing other news about him. May God uphold you and protect you as you rid the state of Ekiti of criminal elements,” Ige said.
