The Importance Of The Human Support System

Growing up, I always thought it was a sign of weakness to ask for help, but now I realize it’s a sign of strength to say, I need help, I can’t do it all.

You become a strong person when you ask for help. Strength lies in humility and asking for help is a humbling experience.

You can’t achieve all things entirely by yourself. There’s a support system that is a basic requirement of human existence.

You just have to have people that you rely on for emotional balance. Your cheerleaders.

If you often slip up when you’re trying to accomplish your goals, it may be that you don’t have an outer support system in place to help you maintain focus and provide the external encouragement everyone needs.

Life is short and precious, and you deserve to be surrounded by people who believe in you and support you; that way, you will stretch and go further, hearing the clap that suggests you are on the right track.

It is important to note that your support system should just be, supportive. If you find that certain people tend to take much more than they give, if you feel drained in a relationship, this isn’t considered supportive. In relationships, social support is certainly not a one-way street. In addition to relying on others, you also serve as a form of support for many people in your life.

The fastest way to build up a support system is through social media which allows us to connect with people near and far. Use social media as an opportunity to follow and engage with people whose stories you admire, whose understanding is soothing and who usually encourage and make positive comments on your wall. More importantly, search and make a connection with someone whose story is similar to yours!

It is imperative to know that in the human support system, the measure of our human capital lies in the amount of support we share.
