The Macallan Launches Classic Cut 2023 Release in Nigeria

The Macallan Classic Cut 2023 Release has been unveiled at the ATAFO Studio in Lagos, Nigeria.

The higher-strength single malt whisky is poised to deliver a full and heightened flavour experience.

This exclusive release is part of an annual series that reaffirms The Macallan’s dedication to discovering the extraordinary and crafting whiskies of unparalleled character.

Crafted by The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team, the Classic Cut series showcases a distinctive range of whiskies, each year exploring different cask types to produce a new expression with its unique character.

The Classic Cut 2023 reveals flavour notes of pear and elderflower with light almond and rich vanilla pod. On the palate, it conveys sweet and creamy vanilla, juicy pears, and lemon peel with delicate oak.

The exclusive launch was attended by a selected group of 20 guests who are lovers of whisky and fashion.

The list included the likes of the Executive Director of Brands and Communications, Nosak Group, Eki Ogunbor; Head of Corporate Communications, Oando Energy Resources, Segun Obagbemi; and CEO, of Eton House, Francis Obazuwa, Award-winning Fashion Designer, Mai Atafo.

The highlight of the evening was the signature tasting experience led by The Macallan Brand Ambassador and Educator, Lagos, Daniel Atteh.

Daniel guided the guests through an immersive and sensory experience, to nose the whisky and identify the flavours on their palette, drawing them into the luxurious artistry of The Macallan.

Guests were treated to the tastings of The Macallan Double Cask 15-Year-Old, and The Macallan Double Cask 18-Year-Old. The Macallan Classic Cut 2023 Release was unveiled in grand style.

The guests savoured its unique taste amidst soft music, documentary, and networking.

With a higher strength ABV of 50.3%, selected by the Whisky Maker as the optimum level to highlight interesting and unusual flavours for The Macallan.

The Macallan Classic Cut is released on an annual basis and differs each year in ABV and tasting notes.

However, each release demonstrates The Macallan’s continuous quest to seek out the extraordinary and offers a remarkable flavour journey of discovery.

Hammed Adebiyi, Brand Manager, Edrington Portfolio, Nigeria, expressed his excitement for this launch, stating, “We are excited to unveil The Classic Cut 2023 Release to our consumers in Nigeria and no better way than an exceptional evening with the guests.
