The Quagmire Named Nnamdi Kanu

Posted on July 27, 2021

It is an international obtainment that, every nation state has a detailed governing laws and the penalties that applies when contravened .Nigeria is not an exception.
In applying those laws, the custodians  of the very nation state, must endeavour to ensure that,  the majority of the governed sees the application as fair and just and in balance with contraveners on record.  In the case of Nnamdi Kanu,  the Boko Haram and their repentant and the terror group that is branded bandits,  hammers home.

Depending on the intelligent quotient of the custodians of the Nation state, distinction in handling, must be made between what one may  call a detachable crime against the state and the one that blurs with the political events in the nation state.

The imperativeness of the need for the above demarcation stems from the fact that, the contravener of the very law may be punished to satisfy the custodians of the Nation state, it does not by any means terminate what gravitated to the crime by the individual that was convicted. In such a situation, it is more of a convenient postponement of a societal quagmire proper.
