The Story Behind FCMB’s Bold New Commercial

Posted on April 20, 2025

More details have now emerged about the new, critically acclaimed television commercial by FCMB Group, which premiered in Nigeria on March 10, 2025.

In what has been described by experts as a first for the 42-year-old organisation, the new visual centering the Group’s subsidiaries was shot on location in over three cities and took over 1,000 people and over 16 weeks of production time.

The commercial has already been seen by millions across the country, with over half a million viewers on YouTube alone, in three weeks.

According to sources, this is the most elaborate advertising collateral by a Nigerian bank in recent times.

An FCMB spokesperson says the TVC is in line with “the sense of community by emphasising the importance of collaboration and shared goals and part of a broader message that mirrors FCMB Group’s success as a diversified holding company, where banking, consumer finance, investment management, and investment banking subsidiaries work together to serve nearly 14 million customers.”

The project was executed by West Africa’s first Cannes Lion winner X3M Ideas, with music by the globally-renowned Cobhams Asuquo.

Nigerian banks are breaking boundaries locally and globally. As the CBN-mandated recapitalisation enters its second phase, FCMB is one of the leading banks demonstrating resilience and promise, with experts saying the bank, named most technologically pioneering bank of the year in 2023, is primed to deliver comprehensive solutions and drive inclusive growth and sustainable development through their collective strength.
