Tragedy: Man Stabs Neighbour To Death During Fight In Lagos

A man, Odukoya Idowu has been arrested and detained at Area M Command, Idimu, Lagos over the death of his neighbour, Iyke Godwin, whom he allegedly stabbed to death during fight in their Ikotun, Lagos residence.

The incident happened at 15, Sete Ayinda Street, Customs Bus stop, Abaranje, Ikotun where both Idowu and Godwin reside with their families.
Abia State-born Godwin died in a hospital on Tuesday following the injury he sustained during the fight.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Idowu reportedly stabbed Godwin in his stomach during a fight and he bled profusely and was rushed to hospital where he eventually died.
Following Godwin’s death, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, Austines Akika ordered the arrest of Idowu for murder.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Idowu and the late Godwin had disagreement after Idowu came back late in the night and was calling Godwin’s wife to open the gate for him.
Godwin allegedly challenged Idowu and warned him never to call his pregnant wife again at that hour since they have already gone to bed.
This, we gathered did not go down well with Idowu who rebuked Godwin and in the process, fighting ensured between them that night.
During the fight, Idowu reportedly used a sharp object and stabbed Godwin in his stomach and he was bleeding profusely and was rushed to the hospital.
At the hospital, Godwin was said to have undergone several operations to save his life, but at the end, he died.
His death thrown both the family of the deceased and residents into confusion and shock.
When our correspondent visited Area M Idimu Command, the Commander, ACP Akika confirmed the incident but referred our correspondent to Lagos PPRO for details.
He also said the matter has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba for further investigation.
The late Godwin was married with two kids.
His corpse had has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.
