Turkish Champion, Cem Ilkel Ranked Top Seed,  As 17th Lagos Governor’s Cup Tennis Beckons

Turkish champion, Cem Ilkel will be the top seed in the men’s event of the 2017 which serves of on 6 October at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.

PM EXPRESS reports that the champion of Turkey F3 Futures who is ranked number 230 on the ATP Tour is also the number one male player back home in Turkey. Ilkel who started playing tennis since aged seven is coming to the 17th Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship as a Doubles champion of Turkey F10.

He was born in Istanbul. He plays double handed backhand Place:Istanbul. Apart from Tennis, his first love, he also plays football as his hobbies.

PM P.M.EXPRESS check on the website of the ITF revealed the top 10 of this year’s Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis. Ilkel who is the top seed is followed by Karim-Mohamed MAAMOUN of Egypt who is ranked 236.

Others are Prajnesh GUNNESWARAN (IND) ranked 244, Roberto ORTEGA-OLMEDO (ESP) ranked 283, Javier MARTI (ESP) ranked 286, Dennis NOVAK (AUT) ranked 293. Number seventh player is Pedja KRSTIN (SRB) who is ranked 304, followed by David GUEZ (FRA) on number 307, Geoffrey BLANCANEAUX (FRA) ranked 318, while, Filip HORANSKY (SVK) on number 324 in the world complete Lagos F4 Futures top 10
