Twin Brothers & 2 Other Gang Members Jailed 14 Years For Armed Robbery

Twin brothers; Ojomo Taiwo, a driver and Ojomo Kehinde, a security guard, have been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for armed robbery.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that two other members of the gang, Emmanuel Bamidele and Peter Samuel, were also jailed for the same offence.
It was the judgment of the Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court sitting in  Ikeja, Lagos, which found them guilty and sentenced them accordingly.
The presiding judge, Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe, convicted and sentenced the defendants following their plea bargain agreement to the amended two -count charge bothering on conspiracy to commit armed robbery, an offence contrary to Section 298(1) of the Criminal Law, Ch .c17, Vol 3, Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The Court heard that the convicts had on the 5th of June, 2020, entered into a blue-colour 2005 Siena vehicle with registration number LSR 771 GG, owned and driven by one Sadiq Abiodun Ezekiel under the pretence that they were stranded at Oshodi Bridge.
After entering the vehicle, at gunpoint, the defendants dragged the victim to the back seat, beat him up, and robbed him of an Android phone, iPhone, ATM card, and N15,000 cash.
The vehicle was recovered on the same day at the Ikeja Shopping Mall and released to the victim.
While searching the vehicle, the victim found a double-barrel locally made pistol with four cartridges. He immediately turned them over to the Police.
When the defendants were initially arraigned in 2020, they pleaded not guilty butt later pleaded guilty after the amended charge of plea bargain agreement filed on 14th April, 2026, which is with a lesser charge of 14 years imprisonment instead of 21 years.
Justice Abike-Fadipe confirmed that the defendants consented voluntarily to the plea bargain.
The state counsel director, J.A. Ogunode, urged the court to sentence the convicts accordingly.
Hence, the court sentenced the convicts to 14 years imprisonment and to commence from the day of their remand in the correctional facility pending when they will finish their prison term.
