Twins Faja Staff Docked For Bolting Away With Company’s N5m Building Materials

A 46-year old staff of Twins Faja Nigeria Limited, Olawuyi Kehinde, has been arrested and charged before the Court in Lagos State for allegedly carting away with company’s N5.4m building materials.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ejigbo area of Lagos.
The suspect, Kehinde, allegedly stole the items including cement and iron rods worth the said amount in question and was charged for stealing under the Criminal Laws of the State.
According to the Police, he used a truck, went where the company packed the items at night and carted them away to an undisclosed location, where he reportedly sold the items.
However, when the company’s management discovered that the items were missing, they reported the matter to the Police at Ejigbo Division. Kehinde was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing items.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while their addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 8th May, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
