The relationship between two lovers,  Farouk Salihu and Kehinde Garba, has collapsed after Kehinde informed Salihu that she was pregnant for him in Ilorin, Kwara State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the man, Farouk Salihu, insisted that Kehinde Garba was not pregnant for him despite the fact that they had been sleeping together before she became pregnant.
The disagreement over the pregnancy led Kehinde to drag Salihu to security agents for him to take responsibility but in turn, Salihu filed a suit before the Court insisting that he was not responsible for the pregnancy.
In the suit filed by Salihu against his estranged lover, Kehinde, before the Magistrate Court sitting in Centre Igboro in Ilọrin, Kwara State, he alleged that Kehinde was trying to force a pregnancy on him and he sought for protection not to take responsibility of the pregnancy.
Salihu told the Court presided over by Magistrate Abdul Qadir Umar that he was not responsible for the pregnancy but did not deny that he slept with her while the relationship lasted.
“My lord, this woman just wants to force this pregnancy on me. I am not responsible for it. She reported me to the NSCDC, where I was questioned.”
However, on her part, Kehinde insisted that he was responsible for the pregnancy and urged the Court to discountenance the submission of the complainant.
“He is the father of the child and only trying to shy away from responsibility” she said.
The Presiding Magistrate, Umar, having listened to the parties, ordered Kehinde to avail the Court of all the material evidences that suggested the Salihu was the owner of the pregnancy.
The matter was adjourned till 29th March, 2024, for the defendant to produce evidence to prove that Salihu slept with her and impregnated her in the process.
