Two sex workers have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing a customer to death over breach of contract.

The incident occurred at a popular hotel located in Ifo, Ogun State where the victim, Adeyinka Olayinka, decided to pass the night with one of the sex workers, according to the Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

It was gathered that an argument broke out between the man and the sex worker, Kudirat Raji, popularly called Angela at the KS Hotel, when the man allegedly reneged on their agreement.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim contracted “Angela” to pass the night with him on an agreed amount, but the deceased reneged on their agreement which led to hot argument between them,” Oyeyemi said.

He said while the argument was ongoing, Angela’s colleague, Esther Basiru, broke a bottle which she used to attack a friend of the deceased who was at the scene.

Oyeyemi said Angela also used a part of the bottle to stab her customer in his armpit, which caused him to bleed to death.

The police spokesperson said the manager of the hotel quickly alerted the police; and the Divisional Police Officer of Ifo Division, Anthony Haruna, led his officials to the scene and promptly arrested the two suspects.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
