In his address, the Founder, Prince Andymoore Ezejioha, described Umuigboekunie Cultural Association as destiny predetermined by God to resonate with the Igbo spirit of brothers keepers, whose destination is unity of purpose.
He stated that Umuigboekunie Cultural Association is poised to reignite the Igbo spirit of brothers keepers mantra, which has nosedived from its radar.
The group seeks to revive the culture of respect, family values, discipline, hard work and genuine enterprising spirit.
He explained that God gave Umuigboekunie Cultural Association a sound and focused woman leader, Chief Mrs. Maryann Okonkwo and co-driver of the group.
The founder, Onowu Ezejioha, is also grounded in Igbo affairs and has experience in leadership needed to move the association forward.
He explained that with well marshalled plans to make Igbo land a destination hub of development, the group started with lectures on opportunities overseas to empower the youths to prosperity and come back to develop Igbo land.
“Igboekunie teaches our people how to fish not giving them handouts”
Farm Revival:
Agriculture was the mainstay of the Eastern Nigeria economy but today we have lost our top position to Malaysia, where we import the produce. What a shame!
We were motivated by young Yoruba farmer and entrepreneur, Amb. Segun, who has the largest pineapple farm in Africa. We quickly did inward search which its outcome revealed an abundance of Igbo farmers. To this we appointed Chief Dennis Osadebe Izuegbunam and Chiel Eugene Ihezuonu to oversee the revamping of our agricultural activities in the East. Alaigbo must bounce back.
Talent hunt
Igbo race is endowed with multifaceled, multi-talented and ingenious human beings. We are good in everything be it crafts, engineering, arts, architecture, socials, religion and anything human does. Pastor Emeka Okonkwo of Nollywood is in charge of grooming talents.
Business proposal for Alaigbo industrialisation:
“The carnel of our mission is enmeshed in this project. This is our focal objective of establishing Umuigboekunie Cultural Association, championing the development of Alaigbo.  We are poised to recreate same with morden technologies. Ndigbo have the intellect and the perseverance to achieve greater growth than this beggarly altitude. Indeed Igbo is a resilient tribe. Godspower Chukwudi Ndulaka is the anchor.”
Diaspora Pool and Funds:
Thank God our brothers and sisters from time immemonal are nostalgic like the Jewish and some Asian people. They remit their proceeds home. Many have been duped by their relatives. They now developed phobia and refuse bringing home their proceeds anymore. But it is now a thing of past because of the emergence this diaspora platform being headed by two impeccable Igbo individuals, lfeoma Angel Raven as the international coordinator and Igbo son Rev Ifeanyi Obiechefu our deputy President General cum Deputy International Coordinator. They have pooled a good number of our overseas people to join the crusade.”
He enjoined the Igbo sons and daughters to key into the project to make Alaigbo greater.
The President General, Mrs. Maryann Okonkwo, stated that the group has the trust and confidence of Ndigbo both in Nigeria and diaspora because of transparency and accountability.
She stated that the group has created opportunities for both the old and youths through their members abroad for jobs, so that they will make money and come to the East to invest in line with Igboekunie agenda.
Some of the participants commended the efforts of the leadership of the group to restore the dignity of Ndigbo and the climax of the event was the display of the traditional dance.
