Police operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, have arrested a 38-year old wanted cult leader, Seyi Ogundele, popularly known as Spartacus in the crime world and his second in command, Ogunmola Akintayo in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Spartacus was a well known leader of Eiye cult group in Ejigbo while Akintayo controls another cult gang known Bola Inquiry Ejigbo but the two leaders had cooperated in perpetrating violence and various crimes in Ejigbo and its environs for several years.

It was gathered that the suspects had been on the wanted list of the Police for several years and seemed to be invincible.
However, their invisibility and invincibility came to an end when one of their gang members was arrested and he mentioned Spartacus and Akintayo as their leaders. Hence the Police trailed and arrested them in their hideout in Ilewa area of Ejigbo, Lagos.
The suspects were paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, alongside other suspects.
The Police boss stated that the suspects were arrested in various areas in the State with the strong determination of the Police to reduce crimes in the State. He said that the suspects will be charged to Court for the various offences they allegedly committed.

When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent spoke with Spartacus, he said that he was a graduate of Ibadan Polytechnic, where he studied Accountancy and graduated 10 years ago. He said after he graduated, he set up Betnaija business and denied that he was violent. He maintained that he was roped in by one of the cult members, who was arrested for armed robbery and denied that he was a criminal. However, Spartacus did not state the relationship between him and the suspect, who mentioned him to the Police.
On the part of Akintayo, he admitted that he was the leader of Bola cult group and said that the group was formed to assist its members.
