Warri/Effurun Peace Marathon: Yussuf Alli Commends Bozimo 

 The General Manager of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Yusuf Alli has commended the initiative by lawyer and sports enthusiast, Joyce Bozimo on the Warri/Effurun Peace Marathon which enters its third edition this year.

Alli said the Marathon is a step in the right direction as there is the need for more road races to keep the country’s athletes in shape and also promote healthy living among the populace.

“I am very glad that more states and individuals are embracing the running culture, I commend the fine idea by Bozimo; a fine lawyer and sports enthusiast to use marathon to promote peace in her locality” Alli stated.

The Lagos Marathon GM also disclosed that he would be on the ground in Warri to support the race and also offer his technical assistance.

“I will be on the ground to give all the support I can, I believe it will be another fantastic race,” the former Africa Long Jump record holder enthused.

It is understood that thousands have registered for the 2018 edition of the Warri/Effurun Peace Marathon where medals and lot of prize monies are up for grabs.

Apart from the national elite runners, this edition has generated interest from thousands of fun runners, students, and the physically challenged.

For the March 3 race, the brain behind the show, Bozimo has revealed that there will be performances by artists and comedians at the finish.

“This year, we are planning to invite our big comedians and I think their presence will encourage a lot of young ones. We have invited a lot of people. We are inviting sports loving of Delta State in particular and the whole country in general,” she stated.
