We Shouldn’t Address People By Titles They Don’t Deserve

Posted on June 17, 2024

Calling people by their first name is not disrespectful, calling them names or addressing them by titles you do not really believe they deserve is the highest disrespect.

Expressing your anger and disappointment with people when they disrespect you or treat you with disdain is an honourable act. It is only when you hide your disappointment and stomach insults just because you don’t want to ruffle feathers or injure people’s ego that you should be considered a dishonourable person.

We should understand that Victor Osimhen plays his football in a place, where you could call an 80 year old owner of your football club by his name and they wouldn’t feel anything about it. In fact, they would feel you are less than normal when you try to over patronise them by addressing them in accolades that they feel are unnecessary.

Finidi George should apologize to Victor Osimhen for showing a very disgusting level of insensitivity to the young man, by presenting him as unpatriotic and uncommitted to the Super Eagles, when he knows that the young man was recovering from an injury that made him unavailable to be selected for Super Eagles matches.

Finidi’s attempt to shift the blame for his woeful stint as Super Eagles coach is the biggest sign of irresponsibility. He is the worst tactician the Super Eagles have had in a long time and he should go back to school to improve his skills as a football coach.

My name is Onwuasoanya FCC Jones and I am a passionate fan of the Super Eagles. I stand with Victor Osimhen. If you think I am wrong, you are wrong. If you can’t accept that you are wrong, kiss the grass.
