We Supply Stolen Goats To Food Sellers – Suspects Confess
CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

Two suspects, Ismaila Olarekan, 27 and Sheyi Ajayi, arrested for stealing goats in Ijeododo area of Lagos, have confessed that they specialised in stealing goats which they in turn supply to food sellers for pepper soup.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that for some time the residents of Ijeododo in the outskirts of Lagos, have not known peace over missing goats in the area. That prompted the residents to look for solutions and one of the decisions was to organise local vigilante to track those behind the theft.
The decision paid off on 11th November, 2020, after a 4-man gang stormed the area at about 3am to steal goats as was done in the past and two of them were caught in the act while two others escaped and now at large.
The two suspects were handed over to the Police at Isheri Oshun Division, who interrogated them and they confessed. 7 goats were recovered from them as exhibits and taken to the Station.
They were subsequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by conspiring to steal goats.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J Layeni, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 14th December, 2020.
