We’re Committed To Deliver ‘Greener Lagos’, Says Tokunbo Wahab

Barrister Tokunbo Phillip Wahab, the Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has assured that his primary goal is to secure a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment that promotes tourism, boosts economic growth, and enhances the overall well-being of every Lagosians.

Wahab gave the assurance in a statement on Monday after he resumed at the Ministry in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the Commissioner, the mandate of the Ministry of Environment is of the utmost importance to him and his team.

“Our primary goal is to secure a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment that promotes tourism, boosts economic growth, and enhances the overall well-being of the citizens. We understand the significance of a pristine environment in ensuring a high quality of life for everyone. With your support, we will work towards achieving this vision and transform Lagos into a truly remarkable place to live and visit,” Wahab stated.

He added that as he resumes office today as the new Commissioner, he assured all Lagosians that “we are fully committed to delivering a Greener Lagos. We are determined to create a cleaner and safer environment where the air we breathe is pure, the water we drink is safe, and the natural resources we have are protected. Your health, safety, and well-being are our top priorities, and we will employ all necessary measures to achieve these goals. Together, let us build a future where sustainability and progress go hand in hand.”

Wahab then urged all Lagosians to join forces with his team and make the dream of a #GreenerLagos a reality.

“Together, we can achieve great things and make Lagos a shining example of progress and sustainability,” he stated.

Wahab, alongside 36 commissioners and special advisers were sworn in by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday 13 September.
