We’re Overwhelmed With Joy, Says School Principal As Ekwunife Facilitates ICT Centre For St. Joseph’s Girls Secondary School, Nimo

The management, staff and students of St. Joseph’s Girls Secondary School, Nimo, have joined the group of schools with a well equipped functioning ICT centre in Nigeria.

The project, which was facilitated by the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, is in line with her pursuit of an ICT economy. The project is tailored to assist the students’ learn 21st century skills and develop their ICT literacy, enhance quality of education and boost engagement and knowledge retention which would contribute to the development of education in Anambra state and Nigeria at large.

In her appreciation message, the Principal of the school, Rev. Sr. Obichukwu Anarah commended Ekwunife for her deliberate effort towards the growth of education, adding that the management, staff and students appreciate her donation and generosity.

“I write to appreciate your generous donation towards converting our school computer laboratory to a full functional ICT centre, we are overwhelmed with joy and could not imagine the joy of the students and their parents when they resume from holiday”, she noted.

Recall that the federal lawmaker has since the Inauguration of the 9th Assembly earmarked education development as one of her focal legislative agendas. The senator has attracted and completed construction/renovation of blocks of classrooms for more than 20 schools across various communities in the zone.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation has also facilitated distribution of furniture, educational materials and crucial ICT equipment to selected schools to aid learning and technological revolution.

Ekwunife, who was recently procured PDP’s expression of interest and nomination forms to return to Senate by a UK based, Nibo indigene, Dr Somtochukwu Nnabuife, has shown great commitment and dedicated to being the strong voice in the National Assembly as well as attracting the dividends of democracy to her constituents.
