What Was Missing In APGA Of The Past!

In the APGA of old, we had leaders who groomed themselves for every available role. If it were possible, they would occupy all positions at once, and even reserve future ones for themselves.

That was the APGA that produced a National Chairman who eventually ceded the Senatorial seat to himself. For all those years as National Chairman, the then occupant groomed only himself and found no one else fit for the job. Today, he is the big masquerade in the Senate, while the “boys” around him have remained boys — even when they have become full-blown men. Complain too much and you get a Sienna bus, maybe a constituency project to execute… and case closed!

We also had an APGA where it was practically impossible to conduct Local Government elections for 8 straight years — until 6 months to the end of that administration. As a result, no one was groomed. With a largely gerontocratic cabinet, most of those who served in that government are either completely spent or too inconsequential to matter in the politics of today.

The APGA of today is a complete departure from that past. It represents a significant improvement in grooming sterling political leadership for the present and for the future.

Today, we have Local Government Chairmen who served, distinguished themselves, and have now been called to greater responsibilities. We have a young and vibrant cabinet made up of people who didn’t need to “know anybody” to become somebody. We have a youth-driven APGA leadership focused on the future and channeling energy to the right places.

The National Leader of APGA and Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has brought this balance. He is charting a new course for a Party built on the identity of a largely republican people.

Soludo is grooming. APGA is watering.

I hope when we get to that point where the fruits begin to manifest, nobody will be surprised at the bountiful harvest.

Vote APGA!
