When Understanding Improves, Perspectives Change!
Many years both as a child and a teenager, I grew up believing that cats are beyond pets. My parents were so spiritually aggressive to every cat that even as an adult I struggled to ever accept there was any such thing as an ordinary cat. In fact, amongst my siblings and I it was common for us to whisper or scream “the blood of Jesus” at the sight of any cat. We were simply conditioned to see cats as witches. Chei…
Brethren, I got to the village for Christmas and found this “caged witch” roaming freely in my father’s compound, no one told me there was now a cat in the house, so I screamed out hoping my Mum would join me in frantic prayers and my Dad searching for his cutlass to unalive the “demon”. To my greatest shock, my Mum shrugged it off calling out at the cat to come close. My Dad chided me for being such a timid PhD holder — these guys have sure scammed me!
I stood stone cold at a spot threatening to leave immediately if this demon is not caged. My younger brother and our last born began my immediate reorientation. “Brother Eji, this cat is friendly and very helpful, I named her Kathalia. Ever since we brought her into this compound we no longer see rats and snakes around. You will like her. Relax!”. I don’t think I will like the cat. But, I am happy that my parents defied the usual difficulties of learning new things at old age.
I am filing a suit against my parents for infecting me with “spiritual ignorance” in this dimension. The matter will certainly be called up in court by January 2025. Meanwhile, they have caged the “demon” until I leave.
