A 28-year old woman, Mrs. Justina Ejeh, who allegedly stabbed her husband, Edwin Person Aondoaka, to death with a kitchen knife, has finally opened up why she killed him during the squabble in Lagos.

The incident happened at Ikorodu area of Lagos, where they reside but lived separately before the incident.

The mother of three, who hails from Okpoga community in Ukpoki Local Government area of Benue State, grew up in Ajegunle where she met her husband seven years ago.

She revealed they had three children aged, 7, 5 and one and half year before the marriage started having challenges over domestic violence by her late husband.

An embittered Justina said she was subjected to domestic violence and she lost the pregnancy of their fourth child due to constant beaten by the deceased. The marriage eventually collapsed and she move out from his house with the children.

She narrated that she had to leave her matrimonial home and started living elsewhere on Wuraola Street in Odo Nla, Ikorodu area with the children and opened a shop where she sells food to take care of the children.

She said it was at the shop that her late husband came and started beating her and she eventually stabbed him. The man was said to have bled profusely and was taken to an undisclosed hospital, where he eventually died.

The action has landed Justina into trouble as she was arrested and subsequently charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court by the Police operatives from SCID Panti, Yaba, for murder.

However, the Court did not take her plea after the prosecutor, Inspector O. Kehinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Hence, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.A. Oshoniyi, ordered her remand in Correctional Centre at Ikoyi and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for report.

The matter was adjourned till 9th September, 2021 and may likely be transferred to the High Court over jurisdiction.
