The management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC, has given reasons behind the total blackout or power shortage in some areas in Nigeria as many residents complain of total power failure in their areas in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the electricity distribution company explained that the recent epileptic power supply being experienced in various areas of the state was a result of the low allocation it got from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
“Dear Valued Customer, Kindly be informed that the recent drop in power supply is due to low allocation from TCN. The affected areas included Tedi Community, Irede Road, Dansa, Satellite Town, and environs.”
Thus, the company said that they have communicated with their partners to resolve the poor supply as soon as possible and appealed to their numerous customers for understanding.
On the other hand, The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said electricity supply has been restored in many parts of the country after the national grid system experienced a total collapse on Monday afternoon.
They said as of the time the report was filed, the cause of Monday’s collapse is yet to be ascertained by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, though it had confirmed the incident.
“The grid experienced a collapse today.  Presently, it has been restored except for the Jos Axis, which will soon have supply within the hour. The collapse happened by 13.49 this afternoon. It is now fully restored by 6.51 pm”,  according to the statement by Mr. Ndidi Mbah, the TCN spokesperson.
