All may not be well in the camp of the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC), with the politicking going on few hours to the Nigeria’s presidential and national assembly polls.

Support Groups that worked for the enthronement of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 and 2019 elections are kicking that they would no longer support the APC in this year’s election because they were abandoned and disappointed with the performance of Buhari’s government.

On Monday, 20 February at the Niccon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, the leadership of the Coalition of Buhari/APC Support Groups held an event where they publicly declared their support for the candidacy of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku with the reason that the government of Muhammadu Buhari and APC has failed the nation.

Holding a similar event at the Centre Point Hotel, Ayetoro, Osogbo, Osun State on Thursday, the southwest zonal leadership of Buhari/APC Support Groups gathered its members to support the national leadership by declaring their support for Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023.

“We are here today to replicate, in the southwest region, what happened in Abuja on Monday 20 February. We are here today to tell the world that we are no longer with the APC again. We are here to show to the world that the Coalition of APC Support Groups, an umbrella body of all recognized and certificated support groups of the APC, has renounced its allegiance and shift support for the actualization of Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023 project,” said Comrade Yahaya Majeed, the Chairman APC National Youth Assembly, National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Coalition of APC Support Groups and now Publicity Secretary, Coalition of Support Groups for Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023.

P.M. EXPRESS understands that each support group in the Coalition has thousands of members spread across the southwest region of Nigeria.

“You will agree with me that Nigerians have endured enough in the last eight years with the poor governance of Buhari’s administration and APC, and it is high time we must collectively stop the mess created by Buhari, his government and the APC.

“We must therefore rise up to say enough is enough to the APC-led government for the betterment of our children unborn and for posterity to judge us right.

“We must collectively reject the wickedness call APC and make our voice loud through the ballots that Atiku/Okowa of the PDP is the answer we need to salvage the ruins caused by Buhari’s government,” Comrade Yahaya said.

The accountant turned politician warned Nigerians not to make mistake of voting for APC on Saturday as it would bring bad fortune for the country.

“We have learnt our lesson with the works we did to support APC to gain power in the previous general election. This is time, we don’t want a president who is not fit, not arrogant, someone who will not be telling us that until he wakes southwest would not wake up. We don’t need a president who will turn to an emperor and tribalistic.

Also speaking, Hon. Oluwatosin Babatunji Akanji Abiola, Southwest Zonal Chairman, Nigerian Byusiness Community for Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023, described the action of the Coalition of APC Support Groups as timely and a patriotic move to save the nation.

While urging Nigerians to vote for the Atiku, he emphasized that the PDP is a party that use to keep promises to the people and recognize the works done by groups of people irrespective of tribes and religious, adding that he has the strong assurance that every group that move from the APC to PDP would not regret supporting Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023.

The venue of the declaration at Centre Point Hotel, Osogbo was a beehive of activities as executive members of each group in the Coalition were in attendance and in support of what the leadership of the Coalition has done.
