Why You Should And Shouldn’t Mock Ekweremadu
CHUKWUEMERIE UDUCHUKWU

If former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu is finally found guilty of planning to harvest an organ of a minor in United Kingdom, he should face the consequences of such demonic act there. However, his call for Igbos to support national parties is a wise one and condemning him for such is very unnecessary. The interests of Igbos in present day Nigeria can only be protected if we fully get ourselves involved in National Politics and stop this emotional politics and ethnic card we always play.
Also, there is no basis to compare Obi’s move to Labour Party with Tinubu’s efforts that developed AD from one state, Southwest and later a national party through merger with ACN and others to form APC.
Tinubu worked closely with fellow stakeholders, built men around him regardless of their states or religion and worked closely with all and that shouldn’t be compared with Peter Obi, who always see himself as the best and a Saint that other stakeholders and parties must follow. Tinubu’s politics that consolidated South West position in the National Politics should not also be compared with that of Peter Obi that cannot even work comfortably with a non-Catholic.
If Igbos must be recognized in the National Politics, they must fully join a national party that has the capacity to win a Presidential election and not a party that is neither here nor there.
Saint Peter Obi Abubakar is the one sabotaging interests of ndị Igbo by joining a party that can’t win a Local Government election even in his home state, Anambra and not Ekweremadu. Let’s stop mocking Ekweremadu because he called on the Southeast not to support Obi’s wild goose chase. Instead, mock him for failing to attract a world class kidney centre to Alaigbo after occupying juicy national positions for years and if later found guilty in the UK, you can also condemn such demonic act of trying to harvest an organ of a homeless minor to save his daughter.
