Wicked Woman Finally Arraigned For Pouring Hot Water On Saleslady

A business woman, Rasheedat Adeleke, has been arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate Court, over allegations of assaulting her 29-year old saleslady by pouring hot water on her at Ikotun area of Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Rasheedat Adeleke was arraigned by the Police on a two-count charge in response to the report by the Directorate for Citizens Rights, Lagos State Ministry of Justice.
The defendant, who owns Super King Supreme Store at Ayodele Ogunkoya Street, Ikotun area of Lagos, was said to have assaulted and inflicted injuries on her saleslady, Miss Bukola Akinola, by pouring hot water on her on the 28th May, 2021, at Moriano Close, Saint Savour Primary School Bus Stop, Ijegun Road, Lagos.
In count one, the charge was “Rashidat Adeleke and others in May 2021 at No. 15 Adebisi Awolola, Ikotun, Lagos did conspired together to commit felony contrary to section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015”.
Count two, the charge was “The defendant and others at large unlawfully assaulted one Bukola Akinola by beating and pouring hot water on her contrary to section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015”.
The Counsel from the Directorate for Citizens Rights, Lagos Ministry of Justice, Ms Kafilat Oseni, said that the absence of the defendant in Court on Thursday 24th June, 2021, resulted to the arraignment of her 70-year old surety, Mr. Awoniyi Fatoki, who was earlier detained at SCID, Panti, Yaba, due to the defendant’s absence in Court.
In her ruling, the Presiding Magistrate, Omobola A. Salau, pronounced a verdict of one million Naira on the surety for the absence of the defendant in Court for trial.
The defendant, Rasheedat, however, appeared before the Court after Magistrate Salau’s verdict.
The case was adjourned till 2nd August, 2021, for mention.
