Woman, 27, Sent To Prison For Inflicting Injury Girl, 10,With Cane

A 27-year old woman,  Precious Ojo, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting injury on a 10-year old girl with a cane. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ceremedu Awoyaya area of Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect, Precious, used the cane to inflict injury on the victim’s back and face over an  undisclosed matter.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and she was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
The Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor,  Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
