A 38-year old woman, Aboyemi Tumishe, has landed in trouble for allegedly stealing baby clothes inside Aswani Market in Lagos State and was caught in the act.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the market during business hours.
She was said to have pretended that she came to the market to buy some items not knowing she was there to steal.
She ran out of luck when she stole a bag containing the items in question belonging to Oyefeso Adiniki. As she was trying to escape, she was caught by other traders in the market and handed over to the Police at Aswani Division.
During interrogation, she admitted to have stolen the items and consequently,  the Police charged her before the Isolo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Solomon, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. I.O. Williams, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
