Woman, 40, Who Slapped Female Police Inspector On Lawful Duty Rearrested

A 40-year old woman, Mrs. Rose Chiedu who slapped female Police Inspector attached to Isheri Oshun Division, Inspector Chukwuyem Josephine for serving her invitation letter has finally been rearrested by the Police in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports Mrs. Nneka Rose Chiedu was rearrested on Sunday and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court on Monday for the alleged assault against Inspector Josephine.
The arrest followed the condemnation of the conduct by the Civic Society Organization led by Comrade Prince Saviour Iche and members of the public who called the Commissioner of Police to intervened on the matter in order not to demoralize the spirit of Police officers in the Lagos State Command and indeed the Nigerian Police.
The woman was brought before the Court and charged on the two counts charges of conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and assault under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The charges read:
That you, Chiedu Rose ‘F’ on 3/10/2024 at about 1625hrs at N0.16, Liadi Disu street, Isheri Oshun, Lagos, in the Lagos state magisterial district, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by harassing one AP/NO. 288101 W/Inspr Chukwuyem Josephine attached to Isheri Oshun while on legal duty to effect your arrest over the case of abduction reported against you by one Egwuatu Uchenna f, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 168(d) law of Lagos state Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:
That you, Chiedu Rose ‘f on the same date, place and time at the aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully assault AP/NO. 288101 W/Inspr Chukwuyem Josephine, attached to Isheri Oshun by slapping her while on her legal duty to arrest you based on the case of abduction reported against you by one Egwuatu Uchenna ‘f in an attempt to resist arrest, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 172 law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, K.A. Ariyo, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 24th October, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
