Woman, 44, Escapes Death After Attempts By Neighbour, 40, To Secretly Eliminate Her

A 44-year old woman, Bolanle Ogunleye, has escaped death in Oyo State after her neighbour, Mr. Kelvin Titan, 40, targeted to eliminate her in the early hours of the morning over an undisclosed matter as the plot failed. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 9th March, 2024, at about 4.30am, where they reside in Ibadan area of the State.
The suspect has been arrested and charged before the Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan for attempted murder under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The 40-year old Titan is facing a lone charge bordering on attempted murder under the Criminal code, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is found guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector, Opeyemi Olagunju, told the Court that Titan, allegedly attempted to cause the death of the woman, Bolanle Ogunleye, in the early hours of the morning but did not disclose how he attempted to murder the complainant.
 The Presiding Magistrate, A. T. Oyediji, did not take the defendant’s plea due to lack of jurisdiction, but ordered his remand in custody at Agodi correctional centre pending the issuance of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The matter was adjourned till 15th April, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
