A 45-year-old woman, Esther Samson, has been charged before a Lagos Court over allegations of conspiracy, child trafficking and using a 17-year old minor for prostitution.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 30th March, 2026, at about 0830 hours, as the defendants went to the home of one Balikis Richard at Rufai Street, Shibiri Ojo, Lagos State.
It further alleged that they gave out the victim, 17, for prostitution without the consent of her parents.
However, the information leaked and the matter was reported to the Police at the Gender Section of the State Command. The Police moved into action, arrested the defendant but her accomplice escaped and is now at large.
After investigation, the Police found the defendant culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge alleged that on 28th March, 2026, at about 1000 hours, Esther Samson and the other suspect conspired to commit felony, specifically child trafficking. The offence is said to be contrary to Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The Count Two alleged that on 30 March, 2026 at about 0830 hours, the defendants went to the home of Balikis Richard at Rufai Street, Shibiri Ojo, Lagos State. It further alleged that they gave out one Glory Richard, aged 17, for prostitution without the consent of her parents.
The alleged act is said to contravene Section 276(a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
