Woman, 53, Arraigned For Conspiring With Man, 55, To Sell Dead Man’s Hotel

A 53-year old woman, Noimat Sulu, has been arrested in Lagos State alongside a 55-year old man, Joshua Okpozo, for conspiring to sell the hotel of their late father, Papa Kamoru Sulu, for N30m without the consent of the family members. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the duo has been charged for conspiracy, forceful entry and stealing under the criminal law of the State.
The incident happened on 2nd March,2025 at Olatunji Street, Sabo Oniba, Ojo, where the hotel is located.
Trouble was said to have started after the one of her brothers, Kazeem Sulu, discovered that she sold the property without informing any member of the family. The matter was reported to the Police at Ojo Division. The operatives moved into action, arrested Noimat and her accomplice, Okpozo and detained them at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Noimat Sulu ‘F’ and Joshua Okpozo ‘M’, on the 2nd day of March, 2025 at about 1700hrs at No:7, Olatunji Street, Sabo Oniba, Ojo, in the Ojo Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit forceful entry/Stealing/conduct Likely to cause breach of peace and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT 2:”That you, Noimat Sulu ‘F’ and Joshua Okpozo ‘M’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by forcible entry into the above address, which was in actual and peaceful possession of another and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 52 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT 3:”That you, Noimat Sulu ‘F’ on the 6th day of February, 2025 at the above address, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did fraudulently obtain the sum of N30,000,000.00 (Thirty Million Naira) from one Opeyemi Mumeen Aloworile ‘M’ under the pretence to sell a hotel, a presentation you know to be false and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 314 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT 4:”That you, Noimat Sulu ‘F’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal the sum of N30,000,000.00 (Thirty Million Naira), property of Late Papa Kamoru Sulu, represented by one Kazeem Sulu ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT 5:”That you, Noimat Sulu ‘F’ and Joshua Okpozo ‘M’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did unlawfully conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by causing pandemonium at No:7, Olatunji Street, Sabo Oniba, Ojo, Lagos State and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168(d) of the Crimi-nal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Simeon Uche, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted Noimat Sulu bail in the sum of N1m and the second defendant in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 16th April, 2025, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
