A housewife, Mrs. Vivian Sunday, has been arrested for allegedly bathing her rival neighbour, Mrs. Zainab Ogundipe, with faeces during a squabble in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ade Ade Street, Abaranje, Ikotun area of Lagos, where they reside with their families.
According to their neighbours, the suspect, Mrs. Sunday, had prepared to attend last Sunday’s service when she had an altercation with Mrs. Ogundipe. In the process, she went and brought a potty containing her child’s faeces and poured it inside Ogundipe’s room apartment through the window and she was bathed with the faeces.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division and she was arrested.
After interrogation and being found culpable, she was charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Ariyo, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
However, the complainant informed the Court that she had the intention to withdraw the matter because they were neighbours.
Thus, the Court released the defendant to her husband and adjourned the matter till Monday 13th February, 2023, for the report of settlement between the two parties to be received by the Court.
