3 Men Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing N4.2m Tricycle On Lagos Street

Three men, Muyideen Yekini,45, Johnson Paul,38 and Segun Aibinu,49 have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly stealing an unregistered tricycle worth N4.2m belonging to Kabiru Popoola on the street. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that they were arrested and charged for conspiracy and stealing over their alleged conduct.

The incident happened on 8th February, 2026, at Pastor Ojediran Street, Ejigbo, Lagos.

According to the Police, the complainant parked the tricycle on the street and the suspects conspired, stole it and escaped to an unknown place. The complainant reported the matter to the Police at Ejigbo Division. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the station for interrogation over the stolen tricycle.

After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

“That you, Muyideen Yekini ‘m’, Johnson Paul ‘m’ and Segun Aibinu ‘m’, on the 8th day of February 2026, at about 0800hrs, at Pastor Ojediran Street, Ejigbo, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

Count II:”That you, Muyideen Yekini ‘m’, Johnson Paul ‘m’ and Segun Aibinu ‘m’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal one unregistered Tricycle TVS valued Four Million Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N4,200,000.00), property of one Kabiru Popoola ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

However,  they pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. F.R. Ogunkoyede, granted them bail in the sum of N1.5m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
