There was a drama at Isolo Magistrate’s court last week when a woman caught her husband and their female neighbour crying together over the detention of the husband in prison custody.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the wife was stunned and wondered why the woman will be crying and held her husband tight whereas she was the one that brought her husband to court for assault.
The husband, Tunde Joseph was arrested and charged before the court for inflicting injury on the female neighbour, Ifeyinwa Okafor with his finger ring.
The incident happened at Yele Okeowo Street, off Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos where they all reside in different buildings.
It was learnt that Tunde and Ifeyinwa were secretly dating without his wife’s knowledge, though some of the residents knew.
On the day of the incident that led to the court matter, it was learnt that the secret lovers had a disagreement which resulted to a fight.
He slapped the lady with a ring he had on his finger, which injured her seriously.
The matter was reported to the police over the deep injury inflicted on her face before she was taken to hospital.
At the Ago Police division, the DPO directed that Tunde should be charged to court for the alleged offence.
When Joseph was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
When Ifeyinwa, who was the complainant in the matter realized that Tunde will be taken to prison, both held each other and started crying and that was the time the wife came to court and met them in the mood.
The angry wife then walked away and said she did not know the two were lovers while she had been wasting her time over the issue between them.
