Woman Chops Off Another’s Lips During Squabble

A woman, Precious Christian, has lost her lips and part of her mouth after she engaged her neighbour, Oluchi Mbadugha, in public squabble in Lagos and she used a sharp object to cut it off. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Sunday Farm Estate, Cement Bus Stop area of Lagos State, where they reside.

The 29-year old suspect, Oluchi has been arrested.

The woman, Precious Christian, suffered her fate when she had  quarrel with Oluchi, which resulted into a public fight over an undisclosed matter between them. 

In the course of the fighting, Oluchi used a sharp object and cut off Precious’ lips, which fell to the ground. She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment. At the hospital, she was told that she will live the rest of her life without her lips because it could not be fixed again.

The matter was reported to the Police at Dopemu Division and Oluchi was arrested.After thorough interrogation and having been found culpable, she was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for assault by inflicting permanent injury on the woman.

She pleaded not guilty.  

The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum. 

She was remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 6th June, 2022, for mention.
