Woman In Trouble Over Attempt To Cover R*pe Of 3 Under Aged Girls With N20,000

The Police in Lagos have arrested a 45-year old woman, Mrs. Aminatu Ismaila, whose son, Ismaila Mustapha, allegedly raped her neighbour’s three under aged daughters and she attempted to cover it up by offering N20,000 to the  mother of the girls.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Kukoyi Street off Logo Bus Stop, Iju Ishaga area of Lagos, where they reside.

It was gathered that the suspect, Ismaila Mustapha, allegedly lured the little girls aged 11, 6 and 4 and engaged them in sex one after the other.The alleged dastardly act got exposed and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. Mustapha was arrested and detained at the Station for interrogation.

He was said to have made confessional statement and pleaded for forgiveness before his mother, Mrs. Aminatu, went behind and offered the money to the mother of the girls.
Thereafter, the mother of the victims were said to have made attempts to withdraw the matter on the ground that she has settled with the family of the suspect.

However, the information got to the DPO, who immediately ordered the arrest of Mrs. Aminatu and charged her before the Ogba Magistrates Court over perversion of justice by offering the money.
Her son, Mustapha, was also charged before the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenje, for defilement which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is found guilty before the Court.
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Bisi Ogunleye, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.The Court ordered his remand in Correctional Centre without  an option of bail while directing the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 27th August, 2020 for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready while Mustapha will remain in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s report.
