Woman Lands In Trouble For Inflicting Injury On Rival With Bites During Public Brawl

A 31-year old woman, Nwabuwanne Clemety, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting deep injury on her female rival, Titilayo Adewale, with bites during a public brawl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Olanipekun Avenue, Oke-Ira area of Ogba, Lagos, where they reside.
The cause of the fight between Clemety and Titilayo was not disclosed by the Police but they were said to be rival neighbours, who had constant quarrel and their neighbours had tried to intervene in vain.
On the day the incident happened, the suspect and the complainant had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter. And in the process, the suspect reportedly held her left arm, drew it to her mouth and inflicted deep injury on her.
The matter was reported to the Police at Area G Command Headquarters at Ogba. She was then arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over her conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 21st August, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
