Woman Sent To Prison Over Visa Fraud

A 46-year old woman, Mrs Mojisola Roland has been sent to prison over her alleged involvement in a visa fraud in Lagos.
The incident took place at Idimu area of Lagos where the suspect met her victim, one Mrs Akinnusi Adeyemi and convinced her to pay her some money for a visa.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Mojisola allegedly obtained N750,000 from Adeyemi under the false pretence of securing an Azerbaijan visa for her so she could seek greener pasture.
Adeyemi was said to have paid the money to the suspect who promised to procure the visa on a certain date.
On the date she promised, Mojisola reportedly went to Lagos Island and processed a fake visa and handed it over to Adeyemi to travel.
It was gathered that when Adeyemi got to the Airport to check-in for her flight, it was discovered the visa was fake and even had a date showing it had expired.
The victim returned home and went straight to met Mojisola to demand for refund of her money and the suspect told her she had spent the money.
The matter was reported to the police who arrested Mojisola and recovered some international passports belonging to other victims too.
She was charged before Ejigbo Magistrate court with fraud and stealing under the Criminal Code .
She pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions .
The matter was adjourned till 10 April 2017.
