Women’s Nation Cup: Sudan Based Football Agent Tips Falcons For Glory

A Nigerian born football agent, Joseph Sunday has expressed optimism that the Super Falcons of Nigeria would defeat Bayana Bayana of South Africa when both meet on Saturday in the final of Africa Women Cup of Nations taking place in Ghana.

Nigeria’s Falcons laboured to beat Cameroon 4-2 on penalty shootout after a barren draw game at the regulation time in the semi final, while South Africa humbled Mali 2-0 to book a place in the final.

Nigeria, who had earlier lost 0-1 to South Africa in the opening group match before they won their remaining two matches to reach the semi final stage, will be seeking for a revenge in the final match on Saturday.

Sunday, who has intermediary license under Sudanese Football Association told PM EXPRESS that having watched the Super Falcons against Cameroon in the semi final, the current Africa champions have what it takes to retain the trophy won two years ago in Cameroon.

“I have watched Falcons on their way to the final, they are a good side and played good football against Cameroon in the semi final. The only area the coaching crew must work on is the midfield. Our coaching crew needs to make adjustment in the midfield because in their semi final against Cameroon, it showed that our midfield is porous, so that is my only fear. If we can correct the midfield, I see Falcons triumph over the South African girls.

“Don’t forget that they have lost their opening match to South Africa and it would be a revenge mission for the Falcons. It is going to be a tough match but I see the Falcons coming out victorious at the end of the day,” he said.

Speaking on the 2-0 victory Rangers FC of Enugu recorded against Defense Force SC of Ethiopia at the CAF Confederation Cup, on Wednesday at the Nmandi Azikwe Stadium, Sunday said Nigeria’s representatives stand the chance to qualify for the next round, adding that there is no cause to worry in the reverse fixture.

He also urged the Rangers to go out for victory against their opponents and ensure that they come out with good result when both teams meet next week in Addis Ababa .

“It was a good result for Rangers in Enugu. They should not go to Ethiopia and defend their result so that it may not backfire. They should play their normal game and ensure that they score away goals which may give them added advantage. I have watched the Ethiopian league and they have some quality players, so Rangers should not be carried away with the victory in their first leg rather they should go for victory in their second leg,” he said.
