The drive of Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West) for re-election into the Senate received a boost as 34 political parties endorsed his re-election while some candidates outrightly stepped down for him at the Grand Finale of his whirlwind campaign in Alimosho LGA after successfully campaigning in 9 other LGAs of the largest senatorial district in Nigeria.

Making the open declaration on behalf of other candidates and political parties that included AD, PPA, AAA at Abesan Mini Stadium in Alimosho during Senator Adeola Stakeholder’s meeting, Dr. Samuel Akinyemi Gabriel, the Lagos West senatorial candidate of Peoples Progressives Party of Nigeria, PPN, who was accompanied by many party leaders, said he is an admirer of Senator Adeola’s style of politics over the years as he is from Alimosho just like the Senator adding that he is stepping down his candidacy in favour of Senator Adeola in Saturday’s election.

“I am a lover of progressive politics and good governance. We are progressives in our party too. I also testify to the progressive politics of Senator Adeola over the years. I am actually a fan of his in the political arena. So I am stepping down for him alongside other candidates and 34 political parties, some of whom do not have candidates. It is a joint decision after considering the major parties and candidates. Senator Adeola is the best choice for Lagos West” he stated.

While calling for a violence free election on Saturday, Dr. Gabriel said that youths should cast their vote for a tested legislator as Lagos West and indeed Lagos State cannot afford to field an inexperienced legislator in the highest legislative body in Nigeria.

Senator Adeola who was elated at the gesture of the candidates and the political parties commended the candidates and political parties for acknowledging that he has done his best in effective representation and good governance as a legislator over the years adding that he will always improve on what he has done in the past as well as fulfill all pledges made during electoral campaign.

“I am in my home base here in Alimosho. I was elected for two terms as a State Legislator for Alimosho State Constituency 2. I was elected as House of Representatives member for the Alimosho Federal Constituency and as Senator for Lagos West. In all, Alimosho have stood by me with their massive votes and I promise to continue to do that which had earned me their confidence as a representative” Adeola stated.

He urged Alimosho electorate to continue to vote for the progressives as they had done since 1999 stressing that PDP and its candidates must not be allowed to come back to power to continue the looting and mis-governance of their 16 years rule.
