Your Performance Was Amazing, Sanwo-Olu Hails Team Lagos At NYG 2024

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended the state’s athletes for their outstanding performance at the just concluded U-15 National Youth Games, which was held in Asaba, Delta State.

The weeklong championship ended on Thursday with the Lagos State team picking the second position after they hauled a total of 66 medals.

The sports loving Governor Babajide who has been a pillar of support to sports in Lagos State, took to his social media handles to appreciate the youngsters, coaches and officials who did the state proud at the national tournament.

The Governor wrote: “I am happy to announce that Team Lagos truly excelled at the 8th National Youth Games 2024. We proudly brought home a total of 66 medals: 26 gold, 20 silver, and 20 bronze.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to our coaches, support teams, and everyone who played a part in achieving this incredible milestone.

“To our athletes, thank you for shining with your amazing talents and skills, representing Lagos with such distinction.

“Your journey is just beginning, and I have no doubt that even greater successes await you. You are champions, and we appreciate each and every one of you.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu sees the future in the athletes, and he was proud to make a submission that the best is yet to come from Lagos sports.

“You are the future of sports in Lagos, and I firmly believe that the best is yet to come! Lagos stands proud!”, he said.
