Zik Zulu Okafor Failed Saint Obi, Even In Death

Posted on May 19, 2023

I have told my friends and those who know me that much that I am an advocate of “what a man rejected while alive should never be accepted for or on his behalf in death”.

Saint Obi requested for utmost privacy from his friends on his family life – both rosy and thorny sides. The man himself was not showy about his family, yet courted zero scandal in a scandal ridden industry like Nollywood. I for one thought Saint Obi was still a Bachelor until I read and saw pictures of him and his lovely wife, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, on social media after his death was announced.

Saint Obi’s debut production as a Movie Producer was one of the first ever attempt at getting corporate Nigeria to bankroll a movie. In that movie where, I think, NBC sponsored he blew up his own car, a Mercedes Benz flat boot, in a scene. The accolades were high for him, as that was the first time a Nigerian movie showed real destruction, the type we saw then in Hollywood blockbuster action movies.

Saint Obi led a decent life and career devoid of scandal. This was suppose to be a memory his friends should have left for us his fans even in death. They blew his lid and trended him in such a negative light. And I ask, “to what end?”

I wonder how Saint Obi will feel about his friends at a time he needed them to maintain the “bro code” for and on his behalf. Little wonder he distanced himself from them while alive. Zik Zulu and everyone who tried to “help the dead” were roundly wrong.

Rest in Peace Saint!
