The hotel where the girls were rescued

The police at the weekend raided a popular hotel in Ijegun area  and rescued under-aged girls between the ages of 12 to 15 used for prostitution in Lagos.
During the sting operation that lasted for several hours, 12 of the girls  were rescued and taken to the station.
The owner of the hotel, identified as EddiLite Hotel, located at Yaya Hassan Street off Pipeline, Ijegun, Lagos reportedly brought those girls from various places and kept them for prostitution.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the residents expressed concern over the fate of the rescued victims and the effect of the prostitution on their future.
Residents are also worried that the activities of these rescued girls while in the area could have negative influence over their daughters who saw and watched what those girls were doing in the hotel. Thus, they contacted the police at Ikotun division who carried out the operation and also arrested the manager of the hotel for interrogation to explain how they bring those girls who supposed to be in school.
When our correspondent visited the station, the girls were seen detained but the police declined to reveal the identity of the girls neither was he allowed to speak with them before he left the station.

However, it was observed that some of the victims were crying and begging that they should be allowed to go with promise that they will not return to the hotel if released.
Our correspondent gathered that those girls were recruited by some persons who handed them over to the management at a fixed price as commission.
Sources at the hotel said the girls were ‘hot cake’ who brought in more money to the hotel management and they were even a threat to other matured sex workers in the hotel as most male patrons prefer them.
The sources also revealed that the money they make are splitted into three  -accommodation, commission of the agents that brought them and the remaining are for the girls.
When our correspondent contacted the DPO, he was not around to comment on the matter.
Sources at the station said they may be transferred to the State Command at Ikeja for further interrogation and to fish out those agents bringing them to hotels in the State.
