Three staff members of Arik Airline have been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly printing air tickets to the tune of N10 million and sold to unsuspected passengers without the consent of the company.

The suspects, Kolade Oluwatosin, 35, Owolabi Kadiri, 30 and Ibrahim Sanusi, 29, allegedly committed the crime at the company’s head office at the Domestic Wing of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

They were charged for conspiracy and stealing and were remanded in prison custody.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspects between March and June 2017 printed the tickets and were selling as the company was selling to passengers.

It was gathered that the company was worried that the bookings were always filled up but the amount remitted was different and so they decided to audit their transactions.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it was during the investigation that it was discovered that the suspects had their own tickets which they sold to passengers and did not remit the money to the company’s account.

The suspects were handed over to the Airport Criminal Investigation and intelligent Department who reportedly found the suspects culpable and charged them before Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged offence.

They pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs F.O. Dan-Oni granted them bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum.

They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition and the matter adjourned.
