Angry Wife Pours Hot Water On Husband

A man, Mr. Ibe Akachi has suffered serious body injury after his wife, Joy Akachi, boiled half bucket of water, ensured it was very hot and poured it on her husband to settle scores with him.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 21 Karounwi Street in Ijesha area of Lagos where they resided.

This happened barely one week another woman had stabbed her husband to death at Ikorodu area of Lagos. The police have arrested Mrs. Joy and she admitted that she actually boiled the water to carry out the act. She was detained and brought to the Police Command for further interrogations.

Mrs. Joy Akachi was paraded alongside other criminal suspects by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal at the Command, Lagos. During the parade, the police boss said that the command recorded another incident of domestic violence which he noted was on the increase in the state. He said the latest was on 29th May, 2018, when the police received a report that Mrs. Joy emptied a bucket of hot water on her husband over a disagreement.

Mr. Edgal said that findings revealed that the husband and the wife had a verbal disagreement which did not go down well with the wife; she went to bed with the grudges and still woke up with the grudges. The next morning, the husband went gone to the kitchen to get breakfast before going to work. The wife went to the same kitchen boiled water and emptied the hot water on her husband. His body peeled off as he sustained serious degree of injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Mrs. Joy did not deny that she committed the offence but said that her husband used to beat her in the past and that was way she did it. The CP said the police were still investigating the matter and will definitely charge her to court. He expressed concern over the increase in the rate of domestic violence and advised couples to learn how to accommodate themselves and not cause violence in their homes.

P.M.EXPRESS recently had reported different cases of domestic violence across the state. Some had caused the victims permanent injuries while few had died in the process and the suspects charged to court.
